It’s that time of year again folks: Saint Patrick’s Day. The time has come where people will fill the streets of Saint Paul and invade any bar with a slightly Irish name or theme to it in order to shoot Jameson shots, drink Guinness, possibly with Jameson also in it, and eat bangers and mash to soak it all up. It’s a great, messy tradition. If you’re looking for a more sophisticated way to celebrate, we’ve got you covered here.
Five Farms Irish Cream // $29.99
Saint Patrick’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, so what are you putting in your Sunday morning coffee? Look no further than Five Farms Irish Cream. Made from dairy from five real life farms in County Cork Ireland and made with actual Irish Whisky, more than many other brands can say (sorry, Baileys…). It’s rich and luxurious, filled with notes of caramel, butterscotch, and vanilla. Once the afternoon hits may we suggest making an adult milkshake? That’s what we have planned for our brunch dessert!
Teeling Small Batch Irish Whisky // $32.99
Want to try something different for St. Pat’s? Teeling’s Small Batch is finished in rum barrels, amplifying its vanilla, toffee, and caramel apple tones. Teeling’s is great on its own, as a substitute for Jameson, and has enough vanilla to try out making an Irish Old Fashioned or Manhattan with it. They also make a Single Grain Whisky finished in cabernet barrels and a Single Malt finished in a plethora of different dessert wines, so you’ll have plenty to choose from!
Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin // $39.99
Does this 40 degree weather have you switching spirits to something a little… dare I say… spring-forward? Enter Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Featuring a plethora of Asian citruses and botanicals along with gunpowder tea, this gin also boasts a healthy dollop of meadowsweet straight from Ireland. This gin has a balance between heavy citrus, classic juniper/coriander gin botanicals, and a unique florality from the gunpowder tea and meadowsweet. Spring patio season is right around the corner, we can feel it!
